This weekly discourse describes the experiences of a Canadian couple's move to the Republic of Panama. In 2010, it started with planning, then the building of a home, the actual move, and now experiences of adapting to a foreign culture and another language. There are suggestions, some "how NOT to do its", some humour, a little tragedy....The adventure began in 2010....and continues.

Reaching for the heights...
How high the house seems. I know the finished ceiling height will be 12 feet, but the walls seem to go on forever! The latest photos concern me as I note the window changes I requested have NOT been done...this could be a big "oops" unless they act soon. Hopefully those windows haven't been ordered yet. Messages now fly back and forth to get this error corrected asap, or we will have to live with the current look. Not being present is a frustration! I have sent emails off to several folks, including the engineer who is constructing the house, but no replies! Once more, my blood pressure rises and I feel helpless - if only I were on site!
