This weekly discourse describes the experiences of a Canadian couple's move to the Republic of Panama. In 2010, it started with planning, then the building of a home, the actual move, and now experiences of adapting to a foreign culture and another language. There are suggestions, some "how NOT to do its", some humour, a little tragedy....The adventure began in 2010....and continues.

Working on the house, every night and day...
Saturday, August 27th
Our Pedasi contact noted the crew still busily slaving away just before 5 pm recently, and sent a photo to be sure we knew!
I have no idea at this point what the large round cement thingees are for…hopefully something useful that is buried? There is much about the construction that still baffles me, but a friend from South America tells me similar construction techniques are used where he is from. Next we should expect some walls to start up, then a concrete slab will be poured. Our friend says this ensures the house cannot go anywhere! Interesting. No doubt, all is revealed as time goes by. Then of course, it all gets covered up!
